Gateway has long been a PC user favorite because they always manage to shock us with how much they manage to pack into a desktop/laptop with a modest price tag. The Gateway DX4831-03 is one of their latest full-featured laptop models and I must say it right now that it gives great value for every penny spent.
For starters, this model comes with a powerful Intel Core i5-650 3.2Ghz processor. For storage it has a 1TB hard drive and it also has 8GB of DDR3 RAM. With specs like this, its hard to imagine if there is anything that this desktop PC can't do. There is also no shortage of smaller features on this model. This desktop has 10 USB ports, 2 eSATA ports, a HDMI output and a FireWire port.
With so much computing power, the Gateway DX4831-03 would serve equally well as a heavy-duty work desktop or as a mini entertainment unit. For graphics, there is the NVIDIA GeForce GT220 graphics card that has 1GB of memory dedicated to video. One of the most coveted feature on this model would have to be its Blu-ray optical drive. Just connect the CPU to a HDTV and you will have yourself a mini HD entertainment unit right on your desktop. In terms of audio, this model can support up to 7.1 channel surround sound audio outputs.
The Gateway DX4831-03 is a mid-sized tower style desktop, measuring at 7.1 x 16.3 x 16 inches. While many of the connectors are located behind the unit, you will din the memory card reader, audio jacks, and several USB ports located on the top of the unit. There even a small indented area on the top for you to put your camera, mp3 player, or any other tech gadgets while it is connected to the desktop. All in all, the Gateway DX4831-03 is just one of the most powerful and feature-filled desktop that you can get at the price range. At the time of writing, this desktop model is priced at just around $849 per unit.
